On Friday 28th June, the next CRED team will gather at Heathrow airport to get on a plane bound for Rwanda (via Ethiopia!). The 27-strong team, led by Paul and Helen, will be spending the week in Kigali, and supporting the work of GNPD, one of our CRED partners based out there.
During the week we will be based at the Catch-up Education Centre for street kids (boys and girls), doing a mixture of good-quality interactive educational lessons, alongside some activities and sports.
The team will also be supporting some of the other aspects of GNPD's work, as well as visiting the genocide memorial museum, seeing a few sites, and just trying to absorb the culture of Rwanda.
Obviously there will also be all the processing of what we learn about the lives of the street kids, and the recent history of Rwanda - everyone will come back transformed in some way.
We will update this blog as much as we can, so keep checking in to see what we are getting up to.
In the meantime, on with the packing!
