AfriDACA team blog 1 - Saturday, by Tom, Vicky and Carly

Hi, we are all here safe and sound. The weather is amazing – 30 degrees and more! It was a long day yesterday with 14 hours of flying and being awake for a whole 24 hours! The aeroplane was ridiculously hot. We even had an incident of another passenger passing out next to us, luckily he is all fine.

We would like to say a big hello and thank you to all the family and friends. This is our first blog by Tom, Vicky and Carly; throughout the duration of the trip each team member will be given the chance to update the blog about our daily adventures.

Today’s adventures included a trip to the local shopping mall to exchange our money; the local children waved and the views of the scenery were beautiful. Nothing like we all expected!

We then emptied all the luggage full of resources and clothes, and separated them into what we are going to use during the week to teach our lessons and organized our lesson plans. This afternoon is a chilled night, the food is excellent, no complaints!
We are all bunked in our room’s nice and cosy but according to tom Jaden is the worst snorer ever! (Like a fog horn). We hope you are all enjoying your 3 degree weatherJ

we look forward to updating you about tomorrow and hearing your comments about this blog, keep reading and commenting!! Love afriDACA xx

Great commentary on what looks like an incredible trip. I am impressed with both what you're doing and the excellent written English on display in your lively descriptions! For the person that asked, Liverpool FC (my team too ;-)), is doing just fine - beat Palace 2-1 in the FA Cup and we've drawn Blackburn for the quarter final. We're going to Wembley basically! Enjoy the rest of your time out there - and as you go through the week, think about how your experience in Africa may change the way you think about life back home. Antony Lockley (DACA Governor).
